If you are looking a running a business website or just opening up your own website for your own reasons, you should consider the dedicated server types out there. In order to understand how a dedicated server can benefit you it is important to know what a dedicated server even is; a dedicated server is the opposite of a shared server and people have various reasons as to why they need a dedicated server versus a shared server.
Many people compare the difference between dedicated servers and shared servers to the difference between living in a home and living in an apartment. Users who are operating off of a shared server might have slower speeds than those who operate off of a type of dedicated server, and that is not always pleasing to the user. Consider this: if you were a casual web browser, imagine which one would make you more likely to return to a business website? If you were experiencing slow upload and download speeds and your pictures didn’t’ quite show up right eh way you wanted them to. Imagine going to the site and seeing that it is down, getting HTTP error after HTTP error. On the flip side, imagine visiting a website that is fast enough for your internet speed; pictures are clear, crisp and sharp and you can upload and download files in a flash. Chances are, if you are a run of the mill internet user you would prefer the latter, and who wouldn’t? These things may be the difference between shared server types and dedicated server types. Website administrators love dedicated servers as they are a gate deal more flexible than shared servers. Dedicated servers are very large servers and are often housed in data centers, which are large rooms or even buildings that are completely dedicated to housing such equipment. For larger companies their dedicated servers and related equipment are usually housed in a larger data center whereas other companies have a smaller amount of equipment, only needing one or two rooms to house all of their computer equipment making for a very small data center. Dedicated servers are a bit more expensive than their shared servers, but they are well worth the bit of money that is needed to make it happen. Consider the benefits of dedicated server types for your site today; couldn’t you use a little bit of extra bandwidth?
